During the fundraising event, Lawan thanked the Coalition of Yobe-East Progressive Youths for their efforts, stating, “That, to me, is the true definition of grassroots participation and community ownership.” He emphasized that the initiative reflects a shared commitment to building an open and accountable government in the state.
Lawan further remarked, “You have not only raised funds for forms; you have redefined what it means to be progressive citizens of Yobe State.” He described the fundraising as a collective investment in governance, driven by a desire to respond to the aspirations of the people.
The funds raised were deposited into a designated bank account set up specifically for this purpose. Lawan’s ambition appears to resonate with many in the community, as he noted, “My desire to serve is to answer the call of our people. May Allah continue to direct and guide us in this endeavour. Amin.”
