What are the updates on the JAMB UTME 2026 slips? The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has recently announced a change regarding the arrival times for candidates taking the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in 2026. Candidates are now required to arrive by 7:00am for the first session, a shift from the previously scheduled time of 6:30am.

The first session of the examination will commence at 8:30am and conclude at 10:30am. This adjustment was made in response to feedback from candidates and parents who expressed concerns about the challenges associated with very early morning travel.

JAMB confirmed that candidates do not need to reprint their examination slips following this adjustment. The examination is set to take place from April 16 to April 25, 2026, and candidates are encouraged to check their notification slips for full details of their exam schedule, center, and other relevant instructions.

In a statement, JAMB noted, “Attention 2026 UTME Candidates: This is to notify you of a slight adjustment to the arrival scheduled time, particularly for the first session, which is now 7:00am as against the earlier published 6:30am, while the scheduled start time for the session is now 8:30 am and end time 10:30 am.”

This change aims to provide candidates with a more manageable schedule, allowing them to arrive at their examination centers without undue stress. The board has emphasized the importance of adhering to the new arrival time to ensure a smooth examination process.

As the examination date approaches, candidates are reminded to prepare adequately and stay informed about any further updates from JAMB. The adjustments reflect ongoing efforts to enhance the examination experience for all participants.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding any additional changes that may arise as the exam dates draw closer. Candidates are advised to remain vigilant and check official JAMB communications for the latest information.

Candidates who registered for the 2026 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) can begin printing their notification slips from March 23, 2026. The Mock UTME is scheduled for March 28, 2026, providing an essential opportunity for candidates to prepare for the main examination.

In a significant update, the duration of the Mock UTME has been extended from two hours to four hours. This change aims to give candidates ample time to familiarize themselves with the Computer-Based Test (CBT) environment. Two consecutive sessions will be held on the same day: the first from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., and the second from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Participation in the Mock UTME is mandatory for all registered candidates. JAMB has emphasized that skipping the exam is not an option, urging all affected candidates to make necessary arrangements to participate.

Candidates are advised to print their slips and locate their assigned centres ahead of the examination date. According to JAMB, “Candidates are to access their slips via the JAMB website, clicking on ‘2-Session 2026 MOCK SLIP PRINTING,’ and entering their registration numbers.” This process is crucial for ensuring that candidates are prepared for the exam.

For the 2026 UTME, a total of 2,243,816 candidates have registered nationwide. To accommodate this large number, JAMB has created 1,000 examination centres across the country. The board has also projected an internally generated revenue of N23.8 billion for 2026, with N6 billion to be remitted to the Federation Account as operating surplus.

Furthermore, JAMB remitted a total of N1,570,671,200 to CBT centres for the registration exercise, highlighting the financial aspects of managing such a large-scale examination. The Mock UTME serves as a preparatory step for candidates, allowing them to adjust to the testing format and environment.

As the examination date approaches, candidates are encouraged to stay informed through the JAMB portal for any updates or changes. Details remain unconfirmed regarding any additional measures that may be implemented to ensure a smooth examination process.
