On April 6, 2026, a suspect was apprehended following a midnight attack in the Heipang community of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area, resulting in the tragic deaths of three local vigilantes.
The attack occurred in Pwomol Village, where armed assailants targeted the vigilantes who were on night watch. In addition to the fatalities, one resident sustained critical injuries and is currently receiving medical treatment.
